IBPS RRB Exam Pattern 2023

The selection process for the position of Office Assistant is quite different from the selection process for the position of Officer Grade. For the IBPS RRB Assistant Exam, there will be two phases:

  1.  Preliminary Exam
  2. Mains Exam

There won’t be any interviews to select candidates for the position of office assistant. The sole criterion for selection will be the candidate’s score on the main examination.

No interview is necessary to be hired for the position of office assistant after the main exam.

IBPS RRB OFFICER EXAM PATTERN

For IBPS RRB Officer exam will be conducted in three phases:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Mains Exam

 For IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II & III this year, candidates will be selected based on their professional knowledge in a common exam (single exam).

Pay Scale: IBPS RRB Officer Scale I

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I is paid in the amount of Rs. 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020.

For new recruits under Officer scale I, the in-hand salary varies from Rs. 45,000/- to Rs. 50,000/- at 100 % DA.

Pay Scale: IBPS RRB Office Assistant

IBPS RRB Office Assistant Pay Scale is Rs. 7200-(400/3)-8400-(500/3)-9900-(600/4)-12300-(700/7)-17200-(1300/1)-18500-(800/1)-19300

IBPS RRB Office Assistant’s in-hand pay ranges from Rs. 15,000 to 20,000. The salary may change depending on the organization.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification is different for various posts like Office Assistant, Officer Scale I, Scale II and Scale III. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited university, or its equivalent, is required for office assistant.

  1. Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRB.
  2. Desirable: Working knowledge of Computer.
  3. No experience required

Office Scale I (Assistant Manager): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal husbandry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, pisciculture, agricultural marketing and cooperation, information technology, management, law, economics, or accounting are some of the other options.

  1. Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s*
  2. Desirable: Working knowledge of Computer.
  3. No experience required

Office Scale II General Banking Officer (Manager): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate. The selection process will give preference to applicants who have degrees in accounting, banking, finance, marketing, agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, pisciculture, information technology, management, law, economics, and accountancy.

  1. Minimum experience of 2 years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Office Scale III (Senior Manager): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.. Candidates with degrees or diplomas in banking, finance, marketing, agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, agricultural engineering, pisciculture, information technology, management, law, economics, and accounting will be given preference.

  1. Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions

Age Limit:

For Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Between 18 years and 28 years.

Age requirements for Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager) positions are above 18 and below 30.

For Officer Scale II (Manager), the age range is Above 21 and Below 32.

Above 21 years of age and under 40 years of age for Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager).

Language Proficiency:

Candidates applying for the posts of Office Assistant in any particular RRB is required to possess proficiency in the local language of the State/ UT in which the RRB is situated to be eligible for interview.

Nationality / Citizenship of Applicants:

Any applicant for the IBPS CWE PO Exam must fit one of the following criteria:

  1. Citizen of India.
  2. Subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
  3. Tibetan Refugee who arrived in India prior to January 1, 1962 with the aim of settling there permanently.
  4. A person of Indian origin (PIO) who has moved to India with the intention of staying

        permanently from one of the following countries: Burma, Pakistan,Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African nations Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, or Malawi.

  1. Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favour.
