SSC CHSL Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2022
Tier-1 Examination:
- The exam is objective type and will be conducted online.
- There will be 4 parts in a question paper namely (Part-1) General Intelligence, (Part-2) English Language, (Part-3) Quantitative Aptitude, and (Part-4) General Awareness / General Knowledge.
- Duration of the exam is 75 minutes.
- Questions will be set both in English & Hindi for parts: 1, 3 & 4.
- The exam will have 100 questions for 200 marks.
- There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Exam is the descriptive type and will be conducted offline (pen & paper mode).
Tier-2 Examination:
- Candidates need to write essay / précis /letters/application writing etc.
- Exam carries 100 marks and exam duration will be 1 hour.
- The exam will have to be written either in Hindi or in English.
Tier-3 Skill Test / Typing Test:
- Skill test for the post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): The ‘speed of 15000 key depressions per hour will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage.
- Skill Test: Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the computer. Skill test will be applicable only for Data Entry Operator post.
- Skill Test for the post of Lower division Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (LDS/JSA) and Postal Assistants/ Sorting Assistants (PA/SA): Candidates, who are opting English typing, should have a typing speed of 35 words per minute and those candidates who are opting Hindi typing should have a typing speed of 30 words per minute. Typing test will be applicable for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC and Court Clerk posts.

Typing Test for List-I
Typing Test will be conducted in Hindi/English and candidates while applying for the examination will have to indicate his/her choice/ Option of Typing test medium in the application form. Candidates opting for English medium should have typing speed of 35 words per minutes and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute on computer, 35 wpm corresponds to 10500 key depression per hour and 30 wpm corresponds to 9000 key depressions per hour.
Skill Test for List-II
The Data Entry sill Test at 8000 key depressions per hour will be qualifying nature. Computer will be provided by the commission at the centre/venue noticed for the purpose :
