SSC CGL Selection Procedure 2023
SSc CGL 2023 Examination will be conducted in four tiers-
- Tier-1: Computer based Examination
- Tier-2: Computer based Examination
- All candidates who have applied successfully for SSC CGL 2023 exam, will be assigned Roll numbes and Admit card for appearing in the computer based examination (Tier-2).
- Based on the marks scored in Tier-1, candidates will be shortlisted, category wise, to appear in Tier-1 and Tier-2 Examinations.
- Separate cut offs will be fixed for paper 2 of Tier 1 (i.e forr the post of junior Statistical Officer(jso), Paper-iv of Tier 2(i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer) and for Paper-ii of Tier-ii(i.e. for all other posts.)
- Tier-II Examinations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.
- In Tier-II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will be required to appear in Paper-III and Paper-IV respectively.
SSC CGL Selection Process
SSC CGL 2023 Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:
- Tier-I: Computer Based Examination
- Tier-II: Computer Based Examination

- 14.3.2 OBC/ EWS: 25%
- 14.3.3 Others: 20%

Exam Pattern & Syllabus for SSC CGL 2023 (Revised)
The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam Pattern has been updated by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which also released the SSC CGL Notification 2023.
The Examination will be conducted in 2 tiers as indicated below:
- Tier-1 Exam Pattern: An exam is objective type and will be conducted online.
- The test will be divided into the following four sections:
- General Intelligence Reasoning
- General Awareness / General knowledge,
- Quantitative Aptitude and
- English Comprehension.
There are 100 questions for 200 marks and the exam duration will be 60 minutes.For each incorrect answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted from the final score.
- Tier-2 Exam Pattern:
The objective-type test will be given online.
